What’s Going On – Week of 09/19/16

September 21st, 2016 by

Waumandee Hillclimb – Sunday – September 25th

The Minnesota Austin-Healey Club is putting on the Waumandee Hillclimb, open to vintage vehicles built before 1986, from the 23rd-25th this weekend near Alma, Wisconsin. Waumandee is not only fun to say, but the event will be accompanied by a Friday night parade lap of the hillclimb course, dinner, live music and FREE BEER! 2.3 miles of hillclimb fun with a bunch of cool cars, a banquet dinner on Saturday and then a private tour of some 1930′s Franklins on Sunday, need we say more! FREE BEER!

Food Truck Festival in St. Paul – Saturday – September 24th

Minnesota has the love for food trucks and here is your chance to try them all! Various food trucks will be showing off what they have to offer this Saturday from 11 am to 9 pm in St Paul at Mears Park.

Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride – Sunday – September 25th

We all know that Adam is a crazed motorcycle fanatic, but you can join in on all the fun too. The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a worldwide event that takes place this weekend with the goal of raising money for prostate cancer awareness and men’s overall health. If you own a motorcycle that is of the classic or vintage style, you’re more than welcome to dress up as daper as you can and ride out!

9th Annual SurlyFest – Saturday Sept. 24th (11am-10pm)

I think it goes without saying that we like beer here at MHCC. We try to get to as many taprooms as we can, but when one of the best ones in town is throwing a party, it’s going to be a good time. SurlyFest is back again this year for the 9th Annual running and we can tell you from experience that it’s a good time. The food is amazing at Surly and the beer never disappoints, so if you’re free Saturday make sure to get to the new brewery.

InCarNation Automotive: Paul Walker Memorial Cruise – Sunday Sept. 25th (3pm-6pm)

We all miss Paul Walker as an actor and as a car enthusiast. He was certainly someone who helped change the tuner scene in the United States and who can forget the line, “If one day the speed kills me, don’t cry. Because I was smiling” which of course hits way too close to home. There is a memorial cruise again this year and if you want to get out with a bunch of unique cars and enjoy the open roads, make sure to check out the Facebook group page and join in on all the fun.

Junk Bonanza Minneapolis – Sept. 22nd-24th

The Minneapolis Junk Bonanza is coming to Canterbury Park this week for three entire days of bonanza-ing! If you are a collector of vintage junk stuff like we are at MHCC, you’re probably going to want to check this out. “ A Ki Nassauer event for purveyors & shoppers of vintage finds, beautiful antiques & artisan-repurposed pieces.”

Vikings Away Game – Sunday Sept. 25th

The Vikings will be heading out to the East Coast for a battle with the Carolina Panthers this week. We hope to stay undefeated this weekend as we take on Cam Newton and his high powered offense and lightning fast running power. With Sam Bradford looking good last week against the Pack we can only expect things to go as Zimmer has them planned out. SKOL!
